I winder if you can enighten me.

A friend has just returned from a holiday in Gran Canaria, and bought me a Movistar Famitel 80 cordless phone as a gift.

The plug on the phoneline (not the power) did not fit a standard UK phone socket, so I have used an adaptor.

The phone is fully charged and connected to my UK home phone socket etc, but there is still no dialing tone.

I wonder if anyone knows why this is happening and if there is a solution.

Sorry to be such a numpty, but things like this are not my strongpoint.
